Andrew Pudewa and I are business partners, mutually fond of the written word and academic debate. I’m at his property in rural Oklahoma today, wrapping up business for our new 2014 publishing cycle. His encouragement reminds me of why I do what I do.
Most of the people on my blog are friends to homeschool speech and debate, but maybe you haven’t a clue to what the movement is about. The program is 16 years old and helps train young minds for action in the world, a most valiant goal and purpose of most home educators. My publishing company — Monument Publishing — prints and distributes the leading speech and debate curriculum for homeschool competitors.
For competitors, my sourcebooks are the most anticipated and bestselling products. They run between $30 and $50, but they’re worth it. If you want to jump into this awesome movement, the Monument Publishing sourcebooks will help you in the following three ways:
- Save Time. You can gather evidence, research, cases for debate yourself — and once you get the hang of it, you will — but our sourcebooks kick you off with a ton of material already finished. The debate sourcebooks (Blue and Red) are written by champion debaters and coaches, too, as are the speech sourcebooks (Gold, Silver, Bronze). They’re spending a ton of time this summer helping you get a headstart in the season.
- Save Money. The debate sourcebooks are $50 and the speech sourcebooks are $30. Clubs save $10 each with bulk orders of 10 or more. This can stack up to a tremendous savings for clubs, at least $100 when ordering the minimum. And if you order $500 or more, we’ll ship Expedited Shipping for FREE!
- Save Face. Speech and debate is awesome, and I believe every home educator should be doing this. However, the learning curve can be large. This is why we write these sourcebooks. In fact, all our sourcebooks come this year with introductory chapters ready for the novice to get rolling.
I’m telling you, folks. Speech and debate is the best extracurricular activity to get involved in. Monument Publishing’s sourcebooks help make it easy and fun. Don’t hesitate making your order for the upcoming year. These books release August 1, and you will want to be a part of the movement.
Like I said, I’m in Oklahoma wrapping up business with Andrew Pudewa and his outfit. They’ll have the printing presses ready to roll once the sourcebook material is finished next month, on track for our August 1 release date. Here’s a quote from Andrew Pudewa on the work that I do:
Chris Jeub’s work has been a tremendous influence throughout our journey. If tournaments are the most exciting thing happening on the planet, Chris Jeub is in the middle of that excitement. We have sent several of our students to his Training Minds Camps over the years as well as loyally ordering [his resources] every year they come out. I have been consistently impressed with his tireless contributions to the speech and debate community. So impressed, in fact, that last year I hired his group to come to our home in Oklahoma and train my club for a mini-camp. My club feels more prepared than ever thanks to Chris Jeub and his team of Training Minds Coaches.
To tell you the truth, Andrew’s encouragement embodies my reason for writing the sourcebooks. I hope you get yours for next year, and I’ll see you at some tournaments!
