There were several tournaments on the calendar over the weekend, which means is that today is a true day of rest for hundreds of competitors and their families. They knocked themselves out all weekend running from speech to speech, debate round to debate round. They had a blast, I’m sure, but today they’re winding down.
Today’s a good time to announce the biggest registration of my Training Minds year opening Monday at noon: the Point Loma Speech & Debate Camp. This camp is a big deal for several reasons. Let me list three real quickly for you, and I have hyperlinks to sites explaining more…
- Point Loma Nazarene University
It’s tough to beat this campus. It sits on the shores of one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The Pacific Ocean is your daily view and the climate is heavenly. July in San Diego is one of the best places to be in the summer. We have lodging set up and ready for your visit.
- Michael Hyatt, Keynote
Michael Hyatt is a speech trainer for business professionals in the acclaimed SCORRE Conferences with Ken Davis. He’s one of the world’s most sought-after public speakers today. We’re privileged to have Mr. Hyatt give a private talk to the students at Training Minds Camp. I’m super excited about the connection students will have to Michael’s best-selling Platform message.
- Award-winning Coaching
We’ve been running camps since 2001. Year in and year out, our alumni advance to the final rounds at the most competitive tournaments. If you want to take the next year seriously, you’ll join me and our awesome coaching team in San Diego for the Point Loma Training Minds Camp.
To tell you the truth, this is the most exciting program we’ve had in our 12 years of running speech and debate camps. I’m so excited about this year’s camp, I can hardly stand it. Registration opens tomorrow at noon, but take a sneak peak at this link:
Of course, I’m the president of the organization. I get excited for our camp every year. So don’t take my word for it; take the word of camp attendees of the past:
Camp will make you more prepared, fluent, and confident, just like it did for me.
—Matthew Erickson, Colorado
1st Place NITOC Champion Lincoln-Douglas
Camp was an incredible place to meet fellow competitors. Coaches were top-notch! And of course, the caliber of campers was second to none.
—Joni Jacobs, Montana
The coaches were always there to help and coach one-on-one outside of lectures and their teaching was much enjoyed by all of the students involved. I highly recommend this great camp!
—Ryan Murphy, California
Thanks so much for having the camp! Camp provides a great atmosphere for different leagues to be around each other, and for competitors to get to know one another in a more laid back atmosphere.
—Reesey Rea, Colorado
I couldn’t believe how helpful the coach’s were in answering questions and sharing their experiences. I really appreciated the one on one time in particular and found it to be invaluable.
—Zack Seals, California
Before I went to Training Minds Camp I didn’t think I could speak smoothly, make good arguments, understand how to write a interp, or understand debate. Training Minds Camp changed all of that. I am confident in speech and debate now because of this camp and I look forward to future camps.
—Mickey Sheahan, California
Debate camp challenged my mind in new ways and gave me many new ideas as a coach to implement with my debaters. In addition, I left with inspiration to take on a new year.
—Melissa Zitter, Kansas
Training Minds Camp helped me learn alot about speech and debate. I am glad I went and cannot wait for the season to begin!
—Hannah Gudeman, Illinois
If you’re new to speech and debate, or if you need an advanced push into champion excellence, the Point Loma Training Minds Camp is where you’ll want to be this summer. Pass this onto your speech and debate friends. I hope to see you at Point Loma in July (but I bet we’ll see each other at some tournaments).
