Finishing as Strong As You Can

In less than two weeks I’ll be in San Marcos, California, preparing for our Nationals Intensive Training Camp. We’ll have 50+ students and coaches gathering for a “Secret Society” of national debate champs.

NITC 2014

Let me explain briefly what this event will be, then invite you to consider future events like it.

Nationals Competition

Shane at NITOC 2010We call this camp “NITC” (and we sound really cool when we pronounce it “nit-see”). In San Marcos, we’ll gather over 60 debaters and coaches for scrimmaging, drills, evidence gathering, brief exchanges, and so on — the kind of training debaters really get into.

Why? Because the following week is the Stoa league’s national championship. There will be over 300 other debaters competing for one of the most challenging titles in the country. Registrants to my NITC camp will be more prepared than the rest as they enter into competition on the Monday following.

Our record speaks for itself, and it makes sense. NITC debaters have a Facebook group to connect, they collaborate and write the “final installment” to our published Blue Book and Red Book sourcebooks, and they are coached by some of the best coaches in the world. No wonder we have a rack of national title winners as our alumni.

Did you qualify to NITOC but missed the news of NITC? Registration is closed, but if you are a Team-Policy debate team, we will allow you to enter. You must contact my personal assistant right away, though.

For the rest of you, I have some other events I’d like you to consider…

Events Coming Up

I updated my Events Page this morning, and I’d like you to consider attending some. They may be just the thing for you.

Most important and timely is NCFCA NITC. We’re doing the exact same thing for NCFCA as we’re doing for Stoa. If you are an NCFCA debater who qualified to Nationals at Patrick Henry College, register for the NCFCA Intensive Training Camp.

If you are interested in starting academic debate or speech, make plans to join us in Texas for our speech and debate events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Here is a list of all my events this summer:

I hope to see you at some of these awesome speech and debate camps and tournaments. This is, honestly, the best activity to be involved in. Perhaps someday I’ll see you walk across the stage with a title trophy in your hands!

To tell you the truth, those who end up at nationals are those who come to Training Minds Camp in the summer.
